Astrid is a junior researcher at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development. She graduated from the institute’s MSc program in Environmental Governance with a thesis on the use of futures methods to make the urban food system of Kyoto (Japan) more sustainable. She continues this line of research in her current work within four research projects that use participatory futures methods, with a special focus on applied game co-design. The projects apply these methods to sustainability topics ranging from education to river delta development to security threats. Her main personal research interest is sustainable urban governance.
